SEXUAL OFFENCES

Sexual Offences require the most sensitive handling for both prosecution and defence. Examining a vulnerable witness for either side is a delicate and skilled task that requires a keen responsiveness to the witness’ emotional state. No other type of case feels so like a contest between a complainant and a defendant. As a result the atmosphere in trials of a sexual nature can be charged and experience counts. As a woman, our Head of Chambers has frequently been instructed in such cases and her expertise attracts this work to Chambers as a whole. We are instructed to prosecute these cases but we take pride in offering an effective service to those accused of sexual crimes.
